Ok so i'm a little grossed out from witnessing a warthog being decapitated, did make my stomach churn alot! I'm desensiting myself a bit at a time to all of the processing of the animals. I was ok with the skinning, that was quite fascinating and what they do with the birds is fine. Even seeing the insides of the birds was ok with me. Seeing the animal after processing and hung up is ok now.... was a little creeped out by that at first.
Ate guinea fowl for the first time today...... it was quite nice, although if given an option i would choose another meat. On the first night i tried wilderbeest for the first time aswell, that was very nice.
I'm quite enjoying going bird shooting, It is definately good excercise!!!!! These guys move like nothing i've ever seen before! However i do not like doing it when it's dark as you can't distinguish between thorns and grass, sometimes you don't even see the thorns until you feel them. Am a little scratched up tonight.
Did some shooting for the firstish time today (i shot when i was 12 but it was a small gun and it wasn't from much of a distance) I really enjoyed shooting, however i have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to shoot without resting the gun on something!!!! It wobbles all over the place and is really hard to aim. I am debating as to wether i am going to try and shoot something, i know Nige wants me to though. If i did it would have to be something smaller like an impala or something.
I'm also slowly getting the hang of the names of the animals and how to distinguish between them. I love kudu horns and the steinbok are really cute.
I am sooooo excited about the Kruger park, there are so many animals that i want to see in real life, Lions being one of the top. I also really want to hear them roar! I am also excited for Cape Town now that we have somewhere to stay and we have found cheaper flights.
The sunsets are awesome! the camers just don't capture how red the sun gets! Which is quite disapionting.
I was thinking today that eden could have been somewhere in africa. It has amazing wildlife, beautiful sunsets and it now is absolutely covered in thorns; 'It will produce thorns and thistles for you" Genisis 3:18. I was interested where on earth eden would have been.
Will update soon.
